Writing in Winslow by Tracy O'Clair

Freedom of Speech. It’s a Beautiful Thing. >> What I’m Doing Lately …

Yesterday, I spent some time sorting and uploading old blogs to this website. I’m kinda pissed at myself for not saving the blogs directly in WordPress from the get-go. Anyhow, I still have some blogs to upload; but, at the end of the day it’s a lot of work and I have a shit load of other things to do when I’m online.

I write a lot. I’ve been writing / venting to my hard copy journals just to release my thoughts and get some history down in print.

I love looking back on my writings to remember exactly where I was at that moment in time. Life takes you through a lot of changes. Often, I find my former-self giving advice to my present-self. Life is poetic and the principles seem to remain unchanged.

Anyhow, I’m going to write more now that I’ve relieved myself from restrictions. Here’s what I’ve been working / focusing on.

Social Media: I hired three new freelancers to work within the social media “department.” Social media is a lot of work and it’s not that easy to figure out. The algorithm is constantly changing and there’s not enough time nor money to put as much content out as I want. I’d like to be posting on Twitter once per hour across the board (house and client accounts.) Instagram needs to be formatted with a shit load of hashtags. And Facebook has so many functionalities – by the time I get to explore them, they change.

SO, I must develop my team to keep a pulse on social media. That’s happening. I’m in the process of organizing the strategy that’s in my head and transferring that data to my team. That said, we’re looking for entry level marketing professionals who would like to join our social media team. The right person must be within the marketing field and have a passion for location independent freelance work. I don’t like passerby-ers on my team. I need long term relationships.

Social Selling: I’m also working on a plan to create and execute a social selling team. I’ll test it out on TOCmedia and then replicate it and sell it to clients. I find it’s not just enough to create content marketing lead magnets and funnels. We need to compliment that with a legit online digital sales team.

Finances: As you may or may not know, I’m responsible (or maybe I just think I am) for my single mother, adult son and teenage daughter. I’m always consistently putting thought and energy into figuring out our future. I’ve been listening a lot to Dave Ramsey’s podcast (at the gym.) <<< Learned somewhere that the period is supposed to go inside the parenthesis at the end of a sentence if you live in the US. **shrug**>>>

I like his whole debt free philosophy. We only have a house, a few car payments and some student loans. It wouldn’t really be that hard to get to the debt-free finish line. I’m debating buckling down and paying off debt; but, I’m not 100 percent convinced yet.

There are a million other things that’s happening in my life. I can’t fit everything here. I’m going to be writing on this blog a lot more and so sometimes it will be general updates about me. Sometimes I’ll blog about business and marketing and sometimes about love, travel and defeat.

Oh, I am going to Content Marketing Conference in Boston next week. I’m excited to learn and network with other people within my field.

I’ll sort through the rest of my blog archives and try to get the presentable ones up on this site. Stay tuned and thanks for reading.
