I graduated from Thomas College in 2003 with a B.A. in Marketing Management. Out of college, my first professional job was in the marketing department of a small family owned retail chain store.
As their advertising specialist, I created and executed various promotional campaigns. It was a great crash course in media buying, retail sales promotions and marketing analysis.
In 2006, I made a leap from the small town stores to a statewide business newspaper and started selling print advertisements to marketing professionals and business owners throughout the state of Maine. As an account manager for Mainebiz, I was able to network and create a name for myself within the local marketing industry.
I made sure to keep my contacts close, by the way of social media and face to face interactions. My sales follow up always consisted of a LinkedIn connection request and an email with a shortlist of my services and my contact information.
After Mainebiz, life was different. I felt grown and wanted to branch off on my own to create something bigger than myself. Thus, in 2010, TOCmedia was formed offering marketing management services to local companies and non-profit organizations.
As the owner of a small business, I realized how important it was to utilize online communication tools to expand my reach while keeping my expenses at bay.
In 2012, I started Social Media Breakfast Central Maine and created an alliance with Constant Contact as an Authorized Local Expert. These two new ventures allowed me to secure my position within the marketplace as a social media and email marketing professional.
As content creation and management became increasingly important in regards to search engine optimization, I expanded my services to include various types of content including copy, audio and video. Today, TOCmedia is a content marketing agency offering social media management, email marketing and blogging services.
